Hot Wings and Cold Feet - August 18

All events are free and open to the public.

If you’re looking for ways to support local farmers and artisans, you can do nearly all your shopping at any of the area's Farmers' Markets at this time of year. The Oxford Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday, 9 am to noon. Height-of-the-season locally-grown produce — including summer corn, squash, garlic, tomatoes, carrots, greens, beans and buckets of berries — is coming on strong this month. Also available on the Park are flowers, herbs, fresh eggs, cheese, yogurt, meat, maple syrup, honey, preserves, a wide variety of fresh-baked breads, pies, cookies and cakes. Hand-made soaps and body products, Oxford alpaca fiber and wool, and an array of handcrafted items from note cards to jewelry to wooden crafts and aprons — all of which make great gifts.

All from neighbors you can meet, whose hands you can shake.

The popular local bluegrass band, Hot Wings and Cold Feet, will be performing for the first time in the Bandstand this Saturday, 10 am to noon. Specializing in great harmonies with a traditional bluegrass sound, they bring a touch of progressiveness and a reverence for gospel and songs of earth to the genre. Their aim, they say, is to be sure audience members always leaves with fond memories of the show and a smile on their faces.

Come join us to welcome this well-known band to the Oxford Farmers' Market community!
